Math Mammoth Clock is a worktext that covers telling time and reading the clock, telling time intervals, and understanding the calendar. It is suitable for grades 1, 2, and 3.

The book contains both textbook explanations and exercises, and is designed to be very easy to teach from, requiring very little teacher preparation.

The PDF version of this book is enabled for annotation. This means that if you prefer, your student can fill it in on the computer, using the typewriter and drawing tools in Adobe Reader version 9 or greater.

Math Mammoth Clock covers reading the clock, figuring out simple time intervals, and using the calendar, all in one book. The topics progress starting from the first grade level to the third grade level. Therefore, you also can let your child work the pages of this book in different time periods, and not go through it all at once, depending on your child's current level.

The lessons are divided into the grade-levels this way: reading the clock to the half-hour is first grade material; reading the clock to the five-minute intervals is second grade; and reading the clock to the minute is third grade level. I realize this is somewhat arbitrary, and there is no need to follow it exactly but I want to explain it so you can keep it in mind that the material in this book does get more difficult towards the end.

You will need a practice clock, that is non-digital where the child can turn the clock hands. Reading the clock is a skill that will be used in everyday situations, so this topic (fortunately) is one that children also learn by experience, and do not easily forget once learned.

You might also be interested in:
• Math Mammoth Subtraction 1—a worktext about subtraction concept, difference, fact families, addition and subtraction facts within 0-10, and word problems (grade 1).
• Math Mammoth Add & Subtract 2-A—a worktext about "easy" additions and subtractions within 0-100, memorizing the basic addition facts of single-digit numbers, and word problems (grades 1-2).
• Math Mammoth Early Geometry—a worktext about basic shapes, geometric patterns, right angles, area, and perimeter (grades 1-3).
• Free telling time worksheets for grades 1-3 — generate worksheets for telling time to the whole hour, half hour, quarter hour, five minutes, or one minute. You can choose the clock image size, spacing, font size, and more.

## Feedback

I just wanted to tell you how much we like Math Mammoth. My 6-year-old son learned to tell time using the Clock book. It was so easy to teach with the detailed explanations. I've ordered your US Money book too. What a wonderful job you've done on this curriculum. Thank you so much.

"We have been working on the clock for a week now and my daughter really understands how to tell time now! She is 9 and we've struggled with at least 3 other programs before now. I'm glad I found you and can't wait to use your other series!" Jennifer Tinnes
