I go through two more calculations that involve several operations and both negative and positive fractions and decimals. We also estimate the final answer before calculating.
The first example is 7/8 · (−2.1) + 2.47 and the second is (2/5 + 9/8)(−2.3). The first step is to choose whether to use fractions or decimals for the calculation. In the first example, I use decimals, and in the second, fractions.
