How to make a boxplot - video lesson

This is a free video lesson where I show how to make a boxplot from a set of data (weights of cats): first you find the 5-number summary (minimum, lower quartile, median, upper quartile, maximum) and then use those to draw the boxplot on the number line. I also discuss the meaning of the interquartile range and range as measures of variability. In this case, the data is spread out. The lesson can be used in 6th grade when students initially learn how to draw a box-and-whisker plot or as a review lesson for 7th grade students.
