A pre-algebra lesson for beginners! I solve several simple (most are one-step) equations that involve positive and negative FRACTIONS. The examples include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division equations.
Even though fractions are involved, the solution process is just as easy as it is with whole numbers. So there's no need to feel intimidated, or think that fraction equations are difficult.
I also explain how you can solve an equation of the form
(fraction)x = fraction
by MULTIPLYING by the reciprocal of the coefficient, instead of dividing.
For example, 2x/5 = 1/2 can be solved by multiplying both sides by 5/2.
