Find the area of a triangle by drawing and measuring the altitude

I find the area of two triangles where the base and altitude are not given — so I have to actually DRAW the altitude to the triangle, and then measure it. I show you how to use a protractor to draw the altitude.

Lastly we look at a drawing problem: draw a triangle with an area of 200 square centimeters.

This lesson is meant for 6th grade math.
