Add and Subtract Integers and Rational Numbers
Online practice for grades 6-8

On this page, you can practice adding and subtracting many integers, positive and negative fractions, and positive and negative decimals, or a combination of these.

You can choose the type of numbers to use, the maximum number of numbers in the problems, timed or untimed practice, and the number of practice problems.

For example, you might encounter problems such as 21 − (−18) + 5 − 16  or  1/6 + (−3/4) − (−5/2). Or, if you choose both fractions and decimals, you could get something like −3.82 + 3.8 − (−1/5) − 3.3.

Students usually practice these type of problems especially in 7th grade or in a pre-algebra courses, when studying rational numbers and their operations.
